What this website collects, and why

Private Vatican is a website that compares tours. You can read every page without giving us any personal details. This section explains, in plain words, the few things that are collected when you use it, so that nothing comes as a surprise.

Visits and statistics

We use Google Analytics to count visits. It tells us which pages are read, what kind of device is used, roughly where visitors come from (country or city level, as Google provides it) and how they found the website. We use this to see which pages help readers and which need to be better. It does not tell us who you are.

Booking buttons

When you press a booking button, you pass through an address of this website on the way to the booking partner. We record that a click happened: which tour, which page of ours it came from, the country of your connection, whether the device was a mobile or a desktop, and the time. We do not record your name or your email address. This record helps us understand which tours readers find useful and lets the booking partner credit the booking. Once you are on the partner's website, that website's own privacy policy applies.

Messages you send us

The contact page opens your own email program with a message addressed to hello@privatevatican.com. We only receive what you choose to write and send. We use it to answer you, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you wrote to us.

Your preferences

If you choose the dark or light appearance of the website, that choice is kept in your own browser so the website looks the same next time. It is not sent to us.
